MISSION
CPIL promotes best practices and technical training to tile and stone contractors, observing the highest quality standards in the industry, with the aim of professionalizing the installation industry in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
STRUCTURE
The participants are evaluated on the theoretical and practical foundations of the tile and stone installation by experts in the field.
There are two levels of the CPIL certification: Basic and Advanced.
In the Basic Level, the certified installer has at least 2 years of experience as a professional tile contractor, has the basic theoretical foundations on tile and stone installation, and has demonstrated excellent skills in the installation of tiles and stones, on walls and floors.
At the Advanced Level, the certified installer has at least 5 years of experience as a professional tile contractor, has advanced theoretical foundations on tile and stone installation, and has demonstrated excellent skills in the installation of tile and stone large or regular formats, on all types of surfaces. At this level the installer is capable of performing non-traditional installations, such as diamond type, "herringbone", among others. The installer masters specialized techniques such as circular cuts, leveling of surfaces with "laser", among others.
REQUIREMENTS: BASIC LEVEL
- Being a tile contractor by profession, with a minimum of 2 years experience.
- Complete the certification application.
- Obtain a score of 70 or more on the written exam.
- Obtain a score of 70 or higher on the installation techniques assessment.
